Report: Snapshot evaluation of Arts Council England’s Creativity Collaboratives pilot
Between August 2023 and July 2024 Abigail D’Amore Associates supported Arts Council England’s Creativity Collaboratives pilot programme as evaluation consultants.
Our brief was to deepen understanding of an ambitious, multi-stakeholder programme that aimed to implement Teaching for Creativity in a variety of school and educational settings across England. We worked closely with the eight collaborative partners nationally to facilitate a set of evaluation activities which included:
Consensus workshops: facilitated seven ‘consensus workshops’ with 95 teachers and senior leaders across England to establish a consensus of individual opinions and ideas into a consensus around the impact of Teaching for Creativity.
Data collection: conducted a series of in-person and online interviews with pupils, teachers and senior leaders in a variety of educational settings to deepen understanding around the impact of Teaching for Creativity and the conditions needed for this to thrive.
Data review: collated, reviewed and conducted a top-level thematic analysis of data collected by university partners and collaborative leaders
Reporting: formulated findings into summaries and reports, and presented these to various stakeholders.
Creativity Collaboratives is continuing in a legacy phase, and Abigail D’Amore Associates has now been appointed as lead national evaluator, implementing a national evaluation that has been co-designed with pupils and teachers.
