Case study: National Children’s Choir and Soundabout
The National Children’s Choir of Great Britain and Soundabout approached us to facilitate a visioning process to turn a conceptual idea the two organisations had into an actionable strategic plan.
These two organisations had a shared vision to address the lack of a national singing collective that was fully accessible for disabled vocalists, by creating a safe, inclusive and ambitious musical opportunity for young people who haven’t found their community elsewhere. They recognised their shared expertise of working with young vocalists in a range of contexts, but hadn’t found the time or capacity to take their shared idea into a reality. Our work with them involved:
Vision and strategy: Facilitating a series of online visioning sessions with key members of each organisation to establish a vision, aims, mission, outcomes and also to determine assumptions, external factors that could impact delivery and a competitor analysis.
Case for Change: Facilitating an in-person session with a wider group of team members from each organisation, drawing on the knowledge and expertise in the room to secure strategic aims and format these into a workable case for change to support funding bids and advocacy.
Theory of Change: Produced a Theory of Change for the organisations to support funding bids and programme planning.
In a relatively short space of time we collectively moved their thinking forward significantly, providing the organisations with a set of outputs to support their future work. It’s a brilliant idea, that would benefit many young disabled musicians, so we’re looking forward to hearing more about how this initiative develops!
